1884 JW Walker Organ Restoration
One of Brisbane's premier and most historic pipe organs is being restored.

The 1884 JW Walker organ situated in St Andrew's Anglican Church, South Brisbane, has been a major part of the Brisbane community for over 120 years. The historic and architecturally significant stone church has always been a vital part of Brisbane life - including regular worship, countless weddings and funerals and social and community programs. The organ has been an integral part of all of these.

Over the years the organ has grown and changed, including a massive expansion in 1970 using electric actions instead of the original mechanical action.

However, with the passage of time, those changes have made the organ increasingly difficult and expensive to maintain. The time has come to restore it to its original configuration, which will ensure the reliability and musicality of the instrument for generations to come.
